Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get Medicare rebates?

Certain concerns are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). If you have a valid MHCP/MHTP and referral, you can claim up to 10 Medicare rebates for psychology per calendar year. This will cover some of the appointment cost ($149.05), however, there will be an out-of-pocket amount. Once you reach the Medicare Safety Net for the calendar year, your rebate will be significantly higher. You can discuss with your GP or Psychiatrist if a MHCP/MHTP referral is suitable for you.
